The “Magic” effects of visualisation

Visualising quite simply means seeing something or someone with your “mind’s eye.” The artist uses visualisation to create his work. The handyman visualises the end result of his work, and the operations he will have to perform to complete it. The dress designer does the same. The woman who decides to cook a recipe also visualises the ingredients she will need. So you have already been using visualisation to some extent. But you have done it very briefly, without even thinking about it.

The visualisation that I’m going to ask you to do will differ in several ways from the visualisation you often do unconsciously.

It will be more prolonged and you are going to deliberately focus your attention on a precise mental image. So basically, visualisation is a technique that has similarities with concentration, but you are now going to focus your thoughts for a few seconds on an image conjured up by your mind, rather than a concrete object. These are the main differences.

An introduction to visualisation

The first few times you try, you need to practice in a quiet place. To start with, visualise some simple shapes. To make this exercise easier, imagine a blank screen in front of your eyes, onto which you will mentally project a square – blue or red, whichever you prefer. One important point, however: never choose black, which is associated with negative psychic and spiritual forces. Then move on to visualising different shapes, like a circle or a triangle.

Try to picture the colour really well, try to see it distinctly, if only for a few moments. You don’t need to visualise it for several minutes.

Once you have really mastered this technique, then move on to coloured numbers. Picture a big blue number 1 for a few seconds. Pass on to the number 2, which you can visualise in red. Continue in this fashion until you get to 10, changing the colour each time. Another time, visualise the numbers in descending order, from 10 down to 1, again switching the colour each time.

Then try and do these same exercises outside, regardless of any noise or distractions (this will help you to increase your proficiency). You will therefore try to visualise the colour of your choice, not at home sitting in a quiet armchair, but in the midst of as much racket as possible. This means that when you need to visualise something out of doors, you won’t be put off by any noise.

As you walk along, visualise a colour that you feel in tune with at the time. Imagine it bathing you, surrounding you like a bubble, moving around with you.

At times, you may have a very clear picture of this coloured aura accompanying you, like a field of positive forces around you.

You may find this surprising, you know, but I myself still occasionally do this kind of exercise, and more difficult ones, of course, to keep my psychic powers highly tuned. You will find that far from being tiring, this type of exercise will help you to relax.
