How to meditate

In order to achieve real physical and mental effects, you should meditate for at least 5 minutes. This is the period of time that you should dedicate to meditating if you are unused to remaining still. But you will see how you develop a taste for it, so happy will you be with the incredible results that you gain from these few minutes break. You can then extend your meditation up to 25 or 30 minutes per day.

Choose a quiet place where you will not be disturbed. Sit in a comfortable armchair. It is better to sit rather than lie down, since the object of the exercise is not to relax you to the point of sleep, but to reach a state of well-being favourable for inspiration, illumination, intuition. It is important that you keep your back straight, but not rigid. Your feet should be firmly on the ground.

Any time is a good time for meditation if you feel the need or the desire to do so. You will notice with time and practice that you can immerse yourself in a meditative state at the wink of an eye and ‘on demand’, at night and during the day, alone or amidst a crowd. So in this way no queue, traffic jam or delay will have any hold over you because you will have learned to ‘escape’ the daily pressures and strains by the simple power of the mind.

As far as you can, practice meditation early in the morning or at sundown, because these are the moments when the cosmic energies are most intense. The benefit you gain will be greater.
