Obesity



Name: Through the looking glass 
Aim: to lose weight, regain your elegant figure
Frequency: every time you want to lose weight, for 2 to 3 minutes.

"In any slimming cure, the important thing is to have a mental image of the person you want to become. Imagine yourself becoming slimmer and slimmer in front of a mirror, then step through the mirror and merge with this new image. Take note of what you feel. Then step out of the mirror and push the figure reflected in it to the right your right hand.
Each time you sit down to eat, think of your new self-image. You can also draw this image and hang it in a place where you will see it often. Take it with you if you have to go away for any length of time. Contemplating the image at length will strengthen your resolve.


Comments: During these exercises, focus your attention on the visualisation process and on your determination to be cured or become fit: remain in the here and now.
You may notice that you modify the exercise yourself as you continue to do it. If you find your own images, use them.
You are participating in your own wellbeing; any input from you will be all the more useful.
Recording these exercises and using your voice as a guide is extremely effective. Later, you will give yourself the instructions silently.
