Secrets for Purifying and Activating the Root Chakra (Muladhara)

The Muladhara Chakra that forms the basis of the "Anchorage to the Earth” ritual is also known as the Root Centre. Located at the base of the spine, it is the resting place of the dormant spiritual potential. Its activation restores the free circulation of Vital Energy within the body.
When the Root Centre is functioning harmoniously, you benefit from unlimited vital energy which favours your creative activity and enables you to assert yourself. You achieve your goals easily due your unwavering confidence, stability and  perseverance.

·        Contemplate the sunrise or sunset, or the restful light of dawn or dusk. This revitalises and harmonises the Root Centre and extends its field of energising activity.
To make contact with the stabilising and restructuring Powers of the Earth, sit cross-legged on fresh earth and consciously breathe in its smell.

By combining these two natural experiences – position and respiration – you maximise the influence on the Root Centre.

·        Music with a regular and sustained rhythm is particularly well-suited  to activating the Root Centre.
Primitive music is ideal. For even greater effectiveness, you can dance to the music, preferably barefoot, marking time by stamping your feet on the ground.

Use natural sounds to harmonise the Root Centre. If you have no way of listening to these sounds directly, use pre-recorded tapes on sale in the shops.

·        The Root Centre is associated with the vowel "u” sung in bottom C of the chromatic scale. In fact the sound "uuu” activates a downward movement towards your "roots”. It releases energy from your subconscious and revitalises the primitive powers of the chakra.

Sing the sound "u”, with your back straight, three times a day for 5 to 10 minutes.
Feel it "resonating”  in your chest and especially in your lower abdomen, in the area of the chakra.

·        The Root Centre is also activated by a bright, luminous red, a colour that is warming and and re-invigorating. It is a source of vitality, courage and vital energy.
If the red is mixed with a little blue, it transmits spiritual power to your vital impulses.

If need be, you can create your own medium – using canvas, card, a three-dimensional objet, etc. – that you colour bright red with paint, dye or crayons.
Give it any shape you like and contemplate it for 10 to 15 minutes a day, breathing calmly and deeply.

You can place this medium on your Altar, where it will become “charged” with positive and beneficial vibrations.

·        Wearing or carrying certain minerals and precious stones directly stimulates the Root Centre.

·        Agate is a source of stability and balance. It helps dispel negative emotions (jealously, bitterness, envy, anger, etc.) and restores confidence. It also helps in childbirth.

·          Haematite is a source of strength and vitality. It reinforces and stimulates the body by activating hidden strength, and also tones the blood.

·          Red Coral and Garnet are a source of energy, strength of purpose, self-confidence and success. They also stimulate the circulation.
