This is a universal principle of wealth and prosperity on which all philosophies, all religions, all sacred writings throughout the world (the Holy Bible, the Koran, the Bhagavad Gita, the Tibetan Book of the Dead, etc.) unanimously agree.
They all acknowledge it as the first of the Golden Rules for accumulating money, material riches and prosperity here on Earth. Mystics call is the “AMRA Law” or the “Law of Providence”. This sacred doctrine, relegated to obscurity by the profane world, consists, now as it has in the past, as one of the immutable principles of the Cosmos, is this:
If you are asking for new burst of energy, or help in improving your standard of living – in whatever way – you should give back at least a small amount of the benefits the Universal Cosmic Energy (the Cosmos) is granting you.
This payment may be made in the form of an altruistic service or help given to one or several people, if the benefits concerned cannot be shared physically or materially.
You may also want to save a little of your income (from your salary, your lottery winnings, etc.) to give to a charity or humanitarian association, to help those in need.
Adhering to this rule of freely given sacrifice will give you the opportunity to experience true happiness, and most importantly, the access to the best things in life that come to those who respect and practice this fundamental Law of AMRA.
Acquiring money for its own sake, living a selfish life without sharing, means breaking the laws that create cosmic harmony. This type of attitude makes you accumulate what is called ‘negative karma’ which is a sort of ‘debt’ which the individual will have to pay off sooner or later, to ‘repair’ or make up for his or her mistake, whether in this life or the next.
In other words, as you sow, so shall you reap!
Those whose sole motivation for accumulating wealth is greed or the fear of poverty will be imprisoned by this avarice; they will certainly never discover the joy of helping others. This is an attitude that is more likely to lead to separating human beings than bringing them together, it weakens rather than strengthens, it builds a barrier between the individual and the rest of the world. This in turn leads to moral impoverishment and promotes the idea that success is only possible by ‘crushing’ others.
This is how the Life Forces work: if you are generous, altruistic, sincere and modest, not proud or hypocritical, the Universe will, in return, fulfil your wishes.
The Giving/Receiving principle
It’s important to know that the cosmic energy obeys the law of Polarity, in other words, it turns around an axis that, in this case, is that of "Giving-Receiving".
Basically, knowing how to receive is just as important as knowing how to give. Receiving something with grace is an expression of the dignity of giving. People who do not know how to receive are actually incapable of giving. Giving and receiving are two sides of the same coin, two aspects of the universal cosmic energy at work.
Giving and receiving are also not limited to material things. If you can be gracious about a compliment, or somebody’s admiration or respect, this implicitly means you are capable of complimenting, admiring or respecting others. An absence of respect, courtesy or admiration actually creates a state of poverty…whatever the state of your finances!
So open your heart and your mind, Practice receiving. Give those around you the chance to give and you will see that they are happy to do so. The way you give will improve, in return.
And, by redistributing a small part of what you earn, or by offering your services, you will open up a beneficial channel for attracting money and good things. In fact, when you give, a vacuum is created that will draw back even more than you have given – this is what we call the Law of Providence: "The more you give the more you shall receive".
As long as you carry on giving, you will carry on receiving. And the more you develop your potential, the more riches will come to you… and this wealth will be proportional to your generosity. It is impossible to light up someone’s path unless you yourself are walking in the light.
Thinking of prosperity as an opportunity to give shows that you have correctly assimilated the "giving-receiving" principle which is the very foundation of material and mental wealth. You will also recognise the value of human interactions and respect their diversity. Helping and supporting others will give your life meaning, while idolising money will never fulfil you.
The help you give others need not necessarily be limited to the material kind, it may also be intellectual. Benjamin Disraeli said: The greatest good you can do for another is not just to share your riches but to reveal to him his own.
Every time you have the opportunity, help others draw on their own resources, show them how they can help themselves. Consider this truth: "If you give someone a fish, he can eat for a day. If you teach someone to fish, he can eat for a lifetime".
Many associations need capable people to give them advice; there’s a good example of how you can share your know-how, your experience.
One more thing: never fail to thank the Universe, acknowledge all those who help you and always be sincere in your gratitude. The expression of gratitude is a very powerful force that generates more of what you have already received.
People are more and more insatiable; they always want more, bigger and better. But prosperity is not a sport, a competition in which you have to be richer than your neighbour. If you succumb to this tendency, inner peace will always evade you. You will always be looking to find yourself because you will make only very limited room in your life for spiritual values; you will end up ‘poor of spirit’.
We can’t take any material wealth with us on our last journey. As far as I’m concerned, I don’t know when I will die, but when I look back on my life, I feel satisfied with what I see. And I would like to be able to taste this feeling for as long as possible. I feel gratitude towards all those who have helped me in one way or another. Follow this piece of advice: when you set off along the road to wealth, always be grateful for what you already have.
Give generously and you will receive abundantly.
Do we not hear people talk about outrageous luck and absolute gifts from heaven? An initiate of the laws of Karma, my spiritual guide also taught me that the gifts of Providence come to those with an open and generous attitude towards their fellow men.
Whether it’s a pay-raise, an inheritance, a lottery win, or anything else, all these events actually obey the universal principles governed by the Unseen, by specific laws of Karma.
Do things for other people, speak your mind and express your compassion, and you’ll see how this reaps you unexpected and undreamed of rewards. In order for money to flow continuously in your life, you need to display self-sacrifice and love for your fellow man; this is how you accumulate worthiness and create positive Karma.
What’s all this money for? … The answer given is generally: to live better, to buy the things you want…a house, a car, to have the funds to meet your own and your family’s needs, to study, etc. These statements are true…but they are incomplete, because you can’t take your money or your possessions with you to the grave!
I am asking you here for a few moments of reflection. If you have been wealthy in the past, you will doubtless remember feeling satisfied. But where did this happiness come from? From the power to buy whatever you wanted, for selfish enjoyment, or from sharing your pleasure by helping your family, your partner, your children or loved ones in situations of need?...
In fact, what’s the point of having money if you hide it under your mattress? Greed leads only to bitterness, jealousy and rancour. If, on the other hand, you spread happiness around you, you will receive great satisfaction, elevate your soul…and overall preserve your wealth consciousness.
Ponder this esoteric truth: money is a transporter of energy. It can carry energy that is blessed with good intentions or articulate control, domination and guilt. Sometimes it is a current of love, sometimes it brings ill-feeling and pain.
Just like blood, which must circulate through the whole body to ensure good health, money is of no use until it is dispersed outwards, shared in a life-affirming manner. When blood circulation slows, blood clots form, and illness takes hold.
Of course, the accumulation of money in moderation, such as with savings, is merely a part of the proper management of your personal finances. But bear in mind that holding on to money, hoarding it, prevents it from being used wisely, in support of life – and at risk of becoming an end in itself and an obstacle to happiness.
Follow this advice: keep the money that comes into your life moving.
And better still: Give and you will receive. Always remember that: "Money is a good servant but a bad master"
