Belief in the existence of guardian
angels, each of us having an ally protector charged with watching over us in
life, is documented in the most ancient Christian texts.
Psalm 91 – « There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come
nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee
in all thy ways. . They shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash they
foot against a stone. »
Psalm 34 – « The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he
delivers them. »
Exodus – « I will send an Angel before thee, to keep you safe along your
way. »
Guardian angels are generally seen as benevolent
friends, celestial brothers, confidantes, advisors and intercessors. Is it not
the case that many highly trustworthy people claim to have been saved through
the providential intervention of angels?
