PURIFICATION
Fumigation is a method of purification rituals that rid the body of all
the negativity it has accumulated and stored, perhaps from a harmful
environment, or malicious intent, jealousy or just a build-up of repeated daily
failures.
These fumigations have ancient roots – in shamanism and Hinduism, in
traditional magic and sorcery: all civilisations have used water or incense to
purify, because we humans are never weaker or more vulnerable to harmful
external influences than when our etheric body is charged with negativity. This
usually manifests itself as fatigue, sadness, depression, bad choices in
response to life’s trials, anxiety or greater susceptibility to illness, etc…
The ritual described below does bear some similarity to the Red Indian
ceremony – the Inipi Ceremony – where a dozen people come together in a lodge
with a central fire of smouldering stones over which water and sage are thrown.
The resulting fumigation bathes the body with its purifying emanations, ridding
them of harmful spirits and the effects of wrong deeds, either committed or
suffered.
Anyone who takes part in these purification rituals, which were revealed
to me in the countryside, will need to give their date of birth, as it is this
which governs the choice of incense and determines the right mixture of plants,
according to the cosmic vibrations of each.
