this following recipe, well known to our grandmothers, was reputed to rid the skin of impurities and dead skin cells and brighten the complexion: grind two handfuls of green clay powder (available at health food stores) with rain water or mineral water until you obtain a paste, to which you must add a teaspoon of sage essence. Warm up this mixture in a bowl suspended over boiling water than apply it as a thick poultice to the skin, as hot as you can stand. Keep this mask on for 10-15 minutes, then rinse it off in warm water. Repeat 3 days running every 3 months.
