The power of a Birch wand
The birch wand was often utilized to repel bad spirits and calm agitated nightly ghosts and entities. The birch wand has to be cut in January, during the waxing moon, a Sunday, and at sunrise. This is how it gets its full power. At night, if you sense a presence or a perturbation, suffice to agitate the wand in the air to chase the importune spirit.
The witches brooms were made of birch wood, enforcing middle age peoples beliefs about their power. Generally, Birch wood is considered to possess great protective properties.

Protective wands
For a wand to be efficient it has to be cut in just one cut, with a brand new pruning hook, on a full moon evening. It has to be straight branches of 50 cm and if possible without any knots so that the energetic fluid is not deviated or lost. Then turn a hemp string around the largest part of it, seven times and tie it. This end of the wand should then always be the one to be held.
A few nice examples of wands.

The red ribbon
Bad spirits hate the colour red. To rid your home of those perturbing you, take a small red ribbon, hold it between both your hands and pronounce the following:
"Isis, do so the envy of other people does not reach me."
Wear this ribbon on your skin, hidden so that nobody can guess its existence. Jealousy and false friends will automatically go away.
The red ribbon can be considered as a fire barrier, impassible for people or spirits wanting to hurt the one wearing it.

The Turtle Pendant
A turtle pendant is a powerful protective talisman against black magic and evil spells, as long as it is made of ivory or bronze.
The magical virtues of the turtle originate probably from its exceptional longevity and procreational faculties. In the middle ages it was considered a mythological animal like the Unicorn or Dragon.
Prayer for the ridding of bad spirits
While doing the cross sign, upon the person or animal victim of a bad spell, make the cross before pronouncing each name following hereafter:
"Lasgaroth, Aphonidos, Palatin, Urat, Condion, Lamacron, Fondon, Arpagon, Alamar, Bourgasis, Veniat, Serehani."
If the action is for yourself, each morning when you get up recite this prayer or rewrite it on a plant based parchment which you'll bear with you always:
"Oh Almighty Father, Oh most tender Mother, Oh most admirable example of tenderness and love, Oh Son Prodigy of all sons, Oh Woman of all women, Soul, spirit, harmony, oh all things, keep us, protect us, guide us, be prosperous for us, always and everywhere."
Finish by repeating threefold the following:
"My God, I have faith in You, in the Son, in the Holy Spirit and also in myself."
